Current project
Currently we are partnering with the Canadian Mental Health Association (https://vancouver-fraser.cmha.bc.ca) to help their suitable young adult clients make a successful transition to independence. The program "supports residents to set and achieve goals related to living, employment and social skills that will foster increased independence." These needs varied from completing education, to basic budgeting, and so on. Without a successful transition, people are susceptible to ending up on or back on the streets.
The Agape Home offers a communal living environment where they share 2 bathrooms, one kitchen and a living room. The house has a live-in advisor. CMHA has indicated that the program is making "a really big difference in the lives of those individuals getting the opportunity to live there". CMHA regularly gets requests for applications to the program, as the program has become well-known for its positive outcomes. The partnership started in September, 2017.
